After 3 years of CPGE at the Lycée Thiers in Marseille and a Licence in History at the University of Aix-Marseille (2012), Myriam Akian continued her studies in Archaeology specialising in the Far East at the University of Paris Sorbonne Paris-IV (Licence 2014, Master 2016). At the same time, she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy at the University of Paris-Nanterre X (2014) and began Japanese studies (Bachelor's degree 2016, Master's degree 2018) at the University of Paris-Diderot. Since then, she has been pursuing doctoral research within the doctoral school E131 and the CRCAO on the issues of Archaeology and the creation of memory in Japan.

FFJ/Christian Polak Prize winner
Myriam Akian received the FFJ/Christian Polak Prize in 2019 for her report entitled « Le Site archéologique de Mukibanda: Mouvement citoyen pour la protection du site, Archéologie et Création de Mémoire » (The Archaeological Site of Mukibanda: Citizen's movement for the protection of the site, Archaeology and Memory Creation).
