After a double degree in Language Sciences and German at the University of Paris 3 and a year in Japan, Hugo Trevisan obtained in 2020 a master's degree in Human and Social Sciences, with a specialization in Anthropology at the EHESS. He completed his training with a second master's degree in Social Sciences, co-supervised by EHESS and ENS, and is preparing a thesis on evangelical Christianity in Japan, particularly from the point of view of the relationship between religious organisations and the public sphere.

Hugo Trevisan received the 2019 FFJ/Christian Polak Prize for her report entitled « Pratiques rituelles charismatiques et négociations des transformations socioculturelles. Ethnographie d’une Église pentecôtiste japonaise aux Yaeyama (Okinawa) » (Charismatic Ritual Practices and the Negotiation of Socio-Cultural Transformations.
