À PROPOS Chercheurs invités Victoria MAK

Victoria Mak recently completed her Ph.D. at SOAS University of London. The purpose of her thesis was to provide empirical analyses on the effects of corporate governance measures, such as board compositions and ownership structures, on lending and risk-taking at Japan-listed and UK-listed banks between 2005 and 2013.

Victoria Mak will conduct her research project, which empirically examines the influence of the rise of foreign shareholders on inter-firm alliances in Japan. She argues that the recently increased levels of foreign share ownerships are likely to affect the relationships of investee companies with their domestic cross-shareholders and creditors.
