Steven K. Vogel is professor of Asian Studies and of political science at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on the political economy of the industrialized countries, especially Japan. He authored Japan Remodeled: How Government and Industry Are Reforming Japanese Capitalism (Cornell, 2006) and published with Naazneen Barma The Political Economy Reader: Contending Perspectives and Contemporary Debates (Routledge, 2022). His work, Freer Markets, More Rules: Regulatory Reform in Advanced Industrial Countries (Cornell, 1996) received the Masayoshi Ohira Price.
