Naho TANIMOTO-SEKI

Naho Tanimoto-Seki is Professor at the Faculty of Informatics of the Kansai University in Japan. She got a PhD. in Cultural Sociology from the Graduate School of Human Sciences, Osaka University, Japan. She specialized in Cultural Sociology and was awarded a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and Principal Investigator of "Appearance Attitudes in Cosmetics Surveys: Lookism and Ageism" (2022 – 2025).

Research theme: Investigation of cosmetic surgery, Investigation of romantic discourse, Analysis of manga and anime.

Naho Tanimoto-Seki has been conducting research on cosmetic surgery for over 20 years. She is now planning to conduct a study on women's aesthetics with FFJ, and also aims to foster young researchers who want to conduct related research.
