Hiroyuki Okamuro is Professor at the Graduate School of Economics, Hitotsubashi University and a visiting research fellow at the National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP). He received his M.A. from Hitotsubashi University and his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Bonn. His major research interests are entrepreneurship and innovation. He has published numerous papers in international journals on these topics.

Hiroyuki Okamuro took part in the project “Local Industries in Japan Structures, Roles and Futures” in collaboration with LVMH, intended for in-depth study of existing craft business and know-how in Japan. For this project, he focused on the theme “Innovation and the Development of Japanese Craft Ecosystems”. He also has been visiting researcher at FFJ in September 2018.
